Palace on Wheels, which is a royal Indian train, comprises of 14 guest coaches with enchanting and lavish decor reflecting the architectural style of bygone era of the Maharajas. The luxury train has been renovated several times to adopt technological advancements in order to provide better traveling experience to its guests. The train is well equipped with all modern amenities and offers modified itinerary along with off-train excursion tours.

The Palace on Wheels train is one of the top luxury trains of the world that provides a perfect royal ambiance. The sophistication along with warm hospitality on-board is carrying the tradition of luxury train tours in India for more than three decades.

The saloons are exquisitely designed using traditional themes and are named after the places of the princely state of Rajasthan. The decor of the saloons represents the culture of the state through its traditionally carved furniture, paintings, handicrafts and furnishings. Each saloon has a mini pantry and an attached bathroom. There will be attendants, round the clock to look after the needs of the guests.

Have a lavish dining experience in the royal restaurants on-board the Palace on Wheels. There are two lavish restaurants like: Maharaja (Swarn Mahal) and Maharani (Sheesh Mahal) that serves sumptuous food which includes traditional Indian and other popular international cuisines. Rajasthani and Marwari cuisine are the highlights of these dining cars.

The train also has a lounge that provides opportunities to relax or to interact with the co-passengers. This sitting lounge has been designed beautifully with royal ambience, where one can recline comfortably and read a book or journal, available on-board. One can also enjoy indoor games there. The lounge is beautifully embellished with wall-hangings, furniture and flower pots. Therefore, it is considered as a perfect place to socialize.

Choose from a variety of drinks in the well stocked bar with royal ambiance. It serves national and international brands of liquor, wines and other non-alcoholic beverages along with snacks.

The royally decorated bedrooms in Palace on Wheels will take you back to the days of raja-maharajas. Each bedroom is equipped with an attached bath with running hot/cold water and showers, built-in wardrobes, overhead and night lights, piped music, reading lights, etc. Two of the Coupes feature double beds, while the other two have train beds. A third bed, for an additional person, or an accompanying child, is in the form of a fold-away bed on a higher tier.

The special spa car in Palace on Wheels offers a wide range of rejuvenation therapies and massages in a comfortable and luxurious environment. Go for an Ayurvedic massage to experience bliss. After a day full of activities at the tourist destinations, come back to Palace on Wheels spa to let loose in bliss.

A khidmatgar or attendant is available round the clock to take care of the travel needs and comfort of the guests.

After boarding the luxury train Palace on Wheels guests are greeted with a smile along with a refreshing welcome drink and an arrival kit (containing stationery items, brochures, etc.).

There are proper safety arrangements onboard Palace on Wheels for the guests and their personal belongings.

The bathrooms onboard are very well equipped with toilet, necessary toiletries and showers.

Smoking is not allowed or prohibited on board the train. However, if you want to smoke, please contact your captain for guidance.

Guests can also enjoy other facilities such as sofas, TV and DVD players in the sitting lounge.

Safety of guests are very important. So, travel insurance is essential; indeed it is a condition of booking with us that passengers must have adequate travel insurance cover from the country of domicile for injury, illness, death, accident, loss of effects or luggage and holiday cancellation.

All essential toiletries like soaps, shampoos, moisturizers etc. are available in bathroom.

Lightweight Clothes of cotton and linens are recommended for summer, and Warm clothes for December / January and winter nights.

In case of any special dietary requirement or allergies, guests should mention the same at the time of booking and to the chef / Train Manager on Board.

Hair Dryers are available on board the luxury train.
